Enfant de la Montagne

The colour is pale copper, with delicate and persistent bubbles. On the nose notes of grapefruit, green apple and pear. In the mouth lively and crisp. The finish is savoury and fairly long.

Crafted in Chamery, heart of the Montagne de Reims, this cuvée is a beautiful example of artisanal Champagne. The winery was founded in 1980 by Chantal Delespierre and Didier Bertrand. Today their children Clémence and Adrien carry on the family tradition, working sustainably and respectfully with the land.

This Champagne was made with 35% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Meunier grapes from select parcels in Chamery, Écueil, Villedommange, and Montare (all Premier Cru vineyards). The base vintage was 2020, complemented with 40% of reserve wines. The wine spent a little over 4 years on the lees (dégorgement was in February 2024). This Champagne is an Extra Brut, with very low dosage (around 2 g/L).

For this bottle I paid 32.00 EUR at Les Caves du Forum in Reims.
