The colour is medium garnet. On the nose mainly game. In the mouth balanced, with an aftertaste that last quite a while. A simple but enjoyable wine.
This red wine is made by Henri Bonnaud under the Palette AOC, the smallest Appellation of the Provence region in southern France. It was established in 1948 and is located near Aix-en-Provence.

The colour is medium garnet. On the nose prunes, blueberries and meat. In the mouth light, but well balanced and still pleasant to drink. The aftertaste is medium long.
This wine is a blend of 60% Avgoustiatis and 40% Mourvedre grapes. Avgoustiatis is a little-known red wine grape variety found scattered around the Greek islands (most notably on Zakynthos) and the Peloponnese peninsula. The colour is deep purple. On the nose prunes and over-ripe blackberries, combined with wood and a hint of tobacco. In the mouth smooth, with drying fruity finish. The aftertaste is medium long.

The colour is medium ruby. On the nose at first slightly meaty and quite alcoholic. Not too surprising given the 15% alcohol content. With some air, blueberries and blackberries appear and prevail for a short while. Later the dark fruits disappear and only some black pepper seems to be left. In the mouth rather rustic. The colour is medium purple. On the nose intense aroma of plum and cherry, accompanied by some rosemary. In the mouth it gives a pleasant, although not motley, sensation. The aftertaste is austere, but also fruity, and last for a while.
MachoMan is produced under the Jumilla DO in Murcia, a small region of Spain located on the Mediterranean coast between Andalucia and Valencia. Continue reading “MachoMan 2016”
On the nose black cherries, liquorice and black pepper, which gives a slightly prickly sensation. In the moth well balanced and consistent with the nose. Fairly long finish, but lighter than expected, with an earthy character.

On the nose at first kind of prickly, with herbs and spices dominating the aroma. Among them anise and eucalyptus. With some air, red cherry fruit and liquorice come forward and the sensation get smoother.

This Languedoc wine made with 95% Mourvèdre and 5% Grenache grapes is dominated by a meaty, wild game aroma. In the mouth, it tends to lack matter. Although rather light, it is pretty pleasant. On the finish a bit bitter, but fairly long. Well present tannins, which is a characteristic of the grape.

The brilliant color strongly recalls black cherries.
On the nose it displays an inviting aroma of red fruits, liquorice and pepper, with herby undertones.
