The colour is medium ruby. On the nose woody sensations and chocolate dominate the experience. With some air tomato and hot pepper also come on stage. In the mouth the wine is far from delivering the opulent experience you would expect. In the long aftertaste the woody sensations first perceived on the nose come back, as well as the chocolate. For my taste, this wine got too much exposure to oak. Continue reading “AALTO PS 2013”

X
The colour is medium garnet. On the nose a bouquet of eucalyptus, tobacco, menthol and balsamic notes. In the mouth pleasantly lighter and fruitier than I was expecting, well balanced and with a savoury finish that let be enjoyed for quite a while.
This wine, named X, is as eclectic and unique as its producer. It is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Carminoir, Arinarnoa, Syrah and Merlot. Made out of three vintages: 2010, 2011 and 2013. Continue reading “X”
Karasi 2013
On the nose more floral than fruity, with some earthy notes. When the fruit shows up, it comes from the red berries category. In the mouth fresh and light yet filling. Good, delicate length. Overall a charming medium body red wine, that reminds me of a Gamay.
Karasi is a varietal wine made with Areni Noir grapes grown at an altitude of 1400 masl. Continue reading “Karasi 2013”

L’Equilibrista 2013
1 November 2017
Elegant and well balanced, as the name let you expect. On the nose red fruits, with some spicy notes. In the mouth discrete, with a pleasant acidity that follows you in the aftertaste. The high alcohol content (15%) gets completely undetected, both on the nose and in the mouth. One more sign of a well achieved equilibrium. Continue reading “L’Equilibrista 2013”
