The colour is deep ruby. On the nose cherries, strawberries, plums, caffè latte. In the mouth very elegant, silky, fresh and charming. The aftertaste last for a while.
Overall, the 2013 has been a very challenging year in Bordeaux, but this blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot is flawless and a great achievement for the vintage. Continue reading “Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou 2013”
The colour is in both cases medium ruby. On the nose also pretty similar. Both display an aroma of herbs, red and black berries, with the addition of leather and tobacco for the 2009, and coffee and chocolate for the 2012. In the mouth they are both very elegant. The tannins of the 2012 are edgier. The aftertaste medium long in both cases.

The colour is medium ruby, with purple hues. On the nose vinous, with aromas of roses, violets, stewed strawberries, and orange peels, among others. In the mouth mid-bodied, balanced, and tasty. The aftertaste is long lasting.

The colour is medium ruby. On the nose prunes and stewed fruits. In the mouth soft and warm, probably mainly due to the 15% alcohol. The aftertaste is rather short.

The colour is medium ruby. On the nose musty, with a mix of green pepper and orange flavour. In the mouth tasty, but unpleasantly so. The colour is deep ruby. On the nose chocolate, prunes, dark berries. In the mouth smooth and full, with a tasty finish and a long aftertaste.

The colour is deep garnet. On the nose black cherries, prunes, coffee, chocolate, cola. In the mouth savoury and fresh, with well integrated tannins. The aftertaste is long.

The colour is deep purple. On the nose ripe blueberries, blackberries, plumbs, licorice, pepper. In the mouth not very balanced. Soft at the beginning and edgy at the end. The aftertaste is medium long, but unpleasantly dry and bitter.

The colour is medium ruby. On the nose red berries and sour cherries. Pleasantly fruity but sparing of complexity. In the mouth not particularly structured. The aftertaste doesn’t last long.
